Food Is Equal to God
The reports of death by food have been consistent for hundreds of years. “”My friend Sam died from a spoon of peanut butter stuck to his throat”, “Oh! My husband died from excessive drinking of alcohol” My grandfather died from lung cancer – he used to be a heavy smoker. He was only 50”, “He ate too much sugar. His diabetes increased. He would not stop!”, “His urge for food destroyed his life. His obesity has finally killed him”, or “I begged him to stop using the drugs but he still did and now he is gone”
There is a Sanskrit verse in Vedic science that is recited as follows:
Om Bramha Arpanam
Meaning: I am eating for the benefit of God the creator; I hope that whatever I eat will benefit the world in all aspects of life
It teaches us that everything we eat in life will affect the world in some way, and also the way our life is affected by the world and the universe around us. Whether we live or die early in life and how we experience the different forms of death can be determined the way we eat and what we eat.
A Healthy Body Creates a Healthy and Peaceful Mind
In this book Swami Ram will show you how to create a powerful and healthy life by the food you eat and the way you eat it. When a person loses control of his body by diseases or by addiction, he has created a path that surely leads him closer to death. It is only a system of bad food that makes the profession of Medicine and Hospitalization a big business. If we all eat properly and we never get sick, we will be able to need less hospitals, doctors, nurses and medical services.
Food can destroy you at any moment or it can revive you at the next moment. In one instance, a small fish bone or a spoon of peanut butter stuck in the throat can kill you and in the next moment, a drink of water or a shot of alcohol can rejuvenate you system. Most of the deaths in the world are because of what we eat. To kill oneself all that person has to do is take something poisonous to the body’s food system, and then to make one self feel good, a soda , piece of chocolate, a cup of tea or an intoxicating drink will help create an elated feeling of happiness. So great is our intake of food or rather anything, that enters our mouth that you must regard it as an element of “GOD” that has power over our very existence in life or death.
People should realize that like any great king, if respected that king will shower his blessings on them. So also, a person should realize that if you respect food, then the food like a king would bless you with long life
A diabetic can very much cure his or her illness by following a strict low fat, no sugar diet, but because of his or her corrupted greed for the sweet food taste, the illness takes them closer to death. A person who suffers with high blood pressure has also an urge for salty types of foods. How it is that sometimes the person is fully aware that the food they eat is bad for them but they still eat it? I have met many people who came to consult with me on many occasions complaining about how they are suffering from various terminal diseases but when asked to give up alcohol or red meat, would blatantly refuse to give it up, even though I advise them it would help them to live not die. Many times I watch people eat and swallow foods that are killing them, but will not heed the advice to stop. Is it not amazing to see that Man is so egotistical that he thrives on the thought that “HE IS NEVER GOING TO DIE!” Every human really thinks he or she will not die tomorrow. Could it possibly be that death overtakes a man’s life even before he actually dies, and this could explain why people do not heed the good advice of avoiding certain food destined to kill them?
In my 20 years of health consulting, I have tested the effect of red meat on thousands of people who sought my advice on the subject and it was interesting to see that red meat has such an enormously negative effect on the human body’s immune system.
Many of these people who have given up red meat and such things as alcohol and smoking in their life have now realized a stable, peaceful and prosperous life. After the human body has been purified by removing toxic wastes and foods, it heals easier using natural foods and herbs. A glass of milk will have no good effect on the human body if it is followed by a rare steak meal or a bottle of rum or whiskey. However, if the body is given a glass of milk while in its purified non toxic condition, the milk will heal all the weaker cells in the body. So as you can see, illness and diseases only will occur if you have eaten the wrong food, and all you have to do to remove the illness is detoxify the body and eat the right food to heal it.
Many times women have come to see me, claiming that the doctors want to remove their uterus or womb by surgery because of excessive bleeding. I would disagree, place them on special diet and massage techniques, and a few weeks later they would be healed. They would cancel the scheduled surgery and enjoy a happy love life with their partners.

Introduction
In my own life, I have experienced many trials and tribulations with health and foods. As a young man growing up, my family and I did not eat beef, but my diet include many vegetables. Up until age 20, my brothers and sisters did not suffer from any major diseases and except for minor fevers and colds, we were all very healthy. My parents cooked chicken, poultry, or lamb as a delicacy to enjoy one day every week. Everyone would also look forward to a feast of freshly killed chicken or lamb curry on holidays such as Christmas or Labor Day. We celebrated the Hindu holidays with vegetarian dishes and sweet foods. I had never heard of diabetes being a disease in those days. The older people would mention things such as “bad blood” sickness, they would remedy it drinking certain herbal teas, and it would go away. Little did I know that 40 years later that “bad blood “ sickness would be known as diabetes and that it would actually be the cause of many other diseases too.
Now it was very simple. Whenever the older people mention “ bad blood diseases,” they were actually referring to the fact that their blood was impure and that it needed cleansing, so what they would do was gather certain leaves and herbs, make the tea and then the “ bad blood” would no longer be there. Then later, the same people would be enjoying a complete diet of meat, fish and eggs again without worrying about their health problems any more. A year would pass at least before they would go through another tea cleansing. As a young child, I remember that amid my protests and cries my mother would force me to drink tasteless castor oil every so often. My brothers, my sisters and I would try to hide and cry when we were given such things as Epsom salts and Ex-lax etc. Little did we know that it was for own good. These were actually laxatives that my parents would give us often to clean our intestines and bowels of toxins that could create diseases in our bodies. It worked wonderfully, after a day of constant toiletry and cramps we would feel better and healthier. Oh but the thought of drinking tasteless castor oil was so horrible to imagine. Today however we are very thankful that my parents did these treatments, because we never suffered from any intestinal ailments until we stopped taking them later, in our years and begun to have those problems
Twenty-five years later, I realize that there is “life without diseases and sickness.” After coming to America, I had acquired a completely new way of eating, drinking and living, which was going to be a path detrimental to my health. After I met my wife Seeta, who did not eat any meat except fish and sometimes chicken, she made me give up most of the meats I was eating after living in the United States for over 15 years. She insisted, after we got married, that I should eat more vegetables and thus eventually I became a vegetarian (and a Swami) by age 35. After having three Kids, Luana, Lucas and Luresa, I asked them when they were less than 5 years old if they wanted to become vegetarians, and they agreed. That decision has paid off incredibly in their life. They have been highly honored in their educational life because of their high IQs. They have gone to achieve great scholarships in Science and Medicine at various universities. With very little health problems to worry about, my children were able to place most of their effort on their studies in school and becoming successful in life. Their diet of vegetarianism paid off and soon they realized that being healthy is a way of being prosperous. Today, as adults they thank their parents for placing them on a successful path of life. My wife Seeta of course enjoys the success and love of her children.
There you see, it has been proven that a life without diseases and illness is possible and with the right attitude and knowledge, we can cure and remove any illnesses we have easily. The American diet of processed, canned and fast foods is a detriment to human health and we should correct it at all cost. The food system is very unhealthy and disease generating. One can look at this situation and form a question… “Has Modern Science really improved life or is scientific advancement bringing humankind closer to death and diseases?” I wonder if medical science with its uses of processed chemicals and drugs is hurting instead of helping people. More and more people are taking drugs, as an addiction; more people are living off tranquilizers and unhealthy stale foods, which are creating more and more unknown and incurable diseases. Can we go deep into our consciousness and realize that our body is crying for help and that our whole food system has been changed from natural to unnatural.
I wonder if medical science with its uses of processed chemicals and drugs is really hurting people instead of helping them. More and more people are taking drugs to supplement their addictive urges; more people are living off unhealthy, stale foods which are creating more and more unknown and incurable diseases. Can we go deep into our consciousness and realize that our body is crying out for help and that our whole food system has been changed from natural to unnatural.
People are encouraged to pump gallons of Vitamin C into their bodies everyday, which is bad, because excess vitamin C disturbs the sugar balance in the body. This can lead to diabetes and high blood pressure problems. People are encouraged to eat at restaurants where they cook the foods adding monosodium, chemicals and preservatives. The poor human body is unable to handle this. Fast Food restaurants are providing foods that are “dead for many days” as well as drinks with fermented sweeteners dangerous to the human body. These unnatural products such as corn syrup and refined sugars are creating “bad blood “in every one. Nobody is taking any blood cleaning agents or herbs so diseases of the blood such as cancer, AIDS, leukemia, Lou Garrett’s disease and so on will develop rapidly. Many people are not making any efforts to do regular tune up and cleansing of the intestines so there is buildup of toxins, which eventually create other rare diseases. Doctors cannot cure these diseases today. It is a known fact that in India, Alzheimer’s disease is uncommon because of their highly spicy diets. I know someone who had diabetes and high blood pressure; he went to India and all the symptoms from these diseases disappeared after six months of this spicy diet.
It clear that our way of eating, the respect or disrespect we give to our foods and the consciousness of our food preparation, the type of foods we eat and the way we treat our bodies have a great deal to do with our success in other areas in our life . Obviously if a person has health problems and is ill, he or she cannot enjoy all the money or wealth in the world. If there are some types of illnesses present, you cannot enjoy sexual love, marriage, travel, and other pleasures of life. Don’t you see? …Nothing can be enjoyed if there are health problems. If such is the case, we can conclude that in the same level of “God” there is also health. If a person is perfectly healthy then he enjoys the world completely in the capacity of a divine personality. Being healthy is being like God also. The human body is like a vehicle of your soul (life). If treated properly, well maintained, tuned up occasionally (like a car), and well oiled you will find that your body will operate excellently at all times. Just like a car that is left to sit without running for months , it will get rusty and start to creak and sputter as it is driven, where as if a car is driven always and well maintained then it will perform perfectly also.
In the following pages, you will find an excellent guide to your health according to your own individual health requirements and body functions. If followed properly you will be able to feel good about your life and your health and will not need to go to the doctor unless you need checkups or examinations. The great thing about medical science is that the instruments for examination have advanced far enough to be able to see diseases before they happened. In ancient Vedic Cultures there were no instruments needed because the great Vedic astrologer and Sages could tell if you had a disease long before it started to appear in the body. With this knowledge ‘prevention was better than cure” so people were advised on how to avoid the forecasted diseases. This is the knowledge I give you in the following pages of this book. We are taking the position of “PREVENTION” rather than waiting for the diseases to appear and then venture to deal with it through curing. It is a better way, don’t you agree?

Doctor Rajan Sareen
Paul and his wife Sarah, walk into the office of Dr. Sareen at the Fort Myers Center in Florida.
“Hi Doctor Sareen, it is good to see you again” said Paul in an excited voice
It has been almost 3 years since you were affected by diabetes, right? Said Dr Sareen as the two of them hugged.
“Yes Doc, and it has been a struggling time, but you will be surprised by the results” said Sarah as she shook his hand also.
“I know, you have been following all my instructions so far, how do you feel now? He asked tuning to Paul
“I feel like a million dollar man, I have regained my energy and confidence and I feel that without your instructions and guidance I would be dead by now” replied Paul in an exciting mode.
Dr. Sareen looked at him with the glance of a father looking at his child. “I am glad that you followed everything as I had advised you to do to eliminate this so called disease. As I told you before, it is not really a disease; it is just the result of a bad habit. You consumed bad foods which did not include necessary nutrients for your body. Your intake of too much chemically refined foods, damaged your organs which is why I told you to change your diet”
“It was not just your diet suggestions Doc. It was more than that. It was a complete change of lifestyle, habits and attitude that also makes a person’s life much more interesting and fulfilling. I have begun to appreciate life much more than three years ago and I have enjoyed my relationship with my wife, the universe and the family much more in this last three years than I have in the last 25 years. Now, every morsel of food becomes a special arrow that enters my mouth carrying with it a relationship between my body and the universe. Where the food comes from, who cooked it, who serves it and the way it is prepared are now all important. I have never enjoyed my foods as I enjoy it now. In the last three years I have had the privilege of choosing divine foods for my body, those foods that will make me function with great positive energy, strength and peacefulness. I watched slowly as my body went from a sick, malfunctioning one, weak and bloated one to one of great health and no diseases. Even the problems of such things as allergies and sexual weaknesses have disappeared.”
“And do not forget you have lost almost 60 pounds in weight. This was a key factor to eliminating the diabetes in your body and reviving the pancreas. The key to losing the weight was the apple I told you to take first thing in the morning, after you finish brushing your teeth, before you take any other meal an hour later,” answered Dr. Sareen
“Of course, an apple a day does keep the doctor away. When old folks back in India told me that, I did not know the seriousness of that advice. The apple is loaded with anti-oxidants that wake up your body’s metabolism in the morning. People need to know that eating animal fats or meat in the morning does not wake up the body in the morning, vegetables do. Such things as eggs, milk, sausages, fish, bacon, and so on are the worst things you can put in your body first thing in the morning. These usually will make a person overweight very quickly. Additionally, not eating in anything early in the morning will make a person overweight in the morning. It is because when people think that by skipping meals in the morning they will lose weight, the reverse actually happens, they gain weight instead.
During the night, when you are sleeping all body functions are slowed down to low metabolic rate, the thyroids relaxes and the metabolism slows down, which is why you do not get hungry at night during a 8 to 10 hour sleeping time. When you wake up in the morning, the body is trying to wake up and if you eat an anti-oxidant or astringent fruits first that will speed up the metabolism immediately. After that, you will experience smooth bowel movements, and intestinal cleansing. Following the antioxidant or astringent meal (apple), you can follow that a few minutes or half an hour later with your breakfast meal, as this is an important meal.
“Well what I did after you advised me was that I made a routine in the morning. I wake up in the morning; I thank the universe for being alive once more by appreciating the sunrise, then brush my teeth, have an apple or pear, then turn on the news. After a few minutes, I return to the bathroom, perform my cleansing rituals, get ready for work and then have my breads and vegetables, and then go to work. I even do the same on weekends, but a little later. Sometimes with a late breakfast, I would skip lunch.”
“Skipping lunch is ok,” said Doctor Sareen, “It is the breakfast and dinner that are important. Did you eat your dinner 2 hours before bed time as I told you to do?”
Of course, I eat in silence as you advised. I eat my favorite dishes that Sarah prepares and I chew my food as requested, finish and then watched some TV. I have to say that without Sarah, I would not have been able to have done all these wonderful things. Without her, none of these illness and problems would have disappeared. I owe it to her because I would not have done it alone. She was the divine angel in my life that took care of me, made sure I got the right food, bought the right type of food, examined the sugar content, etc. on the labels, cooked only those foods that would heal my body and made sure I took my Omega oils and so on.
Sarah smiled and faced Dr. Sareen humbly, “I am so proud of him Doc. He really followed all your advice with great efforts. He stayed away from all processed foods. He avoided sugars and corn syrup completely and deleted such things as soda, preserved juices, red meat, chicken, lamb, turkey and yellow parts of eggs in his diet. He also avoided bleached flour, white bread, white rice, citrus drinks and so on. He never used to eat fruits before he met you and now he eats lots of fruits, uses raw cane sugar and molasses as sweeteners, eats a lot of Omega 3-rich foods and vegetables such as cauliflower, celery, beans, flaxseed, corn and lentils. He also avoided high potassium foods such as bananas and potatoes because of his diabetes, just as you advised.
“Tell me something, Doc,” I interrupted, “Why did you make me give up citrus and potatoes? Those are the things I loved the most.”
“Indeed, dear friend, remember you had severe itching on your feet and some of the skin had turned dark? With diabetes came the condition of skin problems. When a person has diabetes, their knuckles, knees and ankles turn darker and then as the skin itches and you scratch it, it may soon turn into sores, begin to bleed and make the feet become toxic. The reason for this is that when the pancreas is unable to produce enough insulin to fight the sugar away, the sugar crystals together with the ingredients in citrus would form sharp razor-like crystals that will actually cut into the skin causing it to itch, thus making it worse. An excess of potassium in the body when you eat potatoes weakens the ability of the skin to fight off these razor-like crystals. Because blood circulation to the skin is cut off the feet can get toxic with the diabetic condition.
Whenever that itching would come on strong, he will run to the kitchen, take some Neem capsules and then run to the bathroom and put very hot water on the affected part,” interjected Sarah.
Yes, hot water actually heats the skin nerves to a higher temperature which will cause the toxic sugar in the blood to recede, melt and become diluted. The same thing happens when you take “Neem”. It is a natural blood cleanser. It does the same. It cleans the blood of high cholesterol, high sugar content and toxic wastes. When he takes this Neem herb, he is able to give the pancreas an opportunity to revive and produce some insulin slowly as it recovers. As he does this slowly also the skin of his feet will begin to recover. As I advised him before, applying aloe gel, Vaseline, and triple antibiotic creams will help to heal the skin”
It is almost fully healed Doc, he has been doing that and now all the dark areas of his skin have disappeared tremendously. At first when we saw you, we used the Neem Toothpaste as a poultice to stop the incessant itching which worked. Soon after the itching stopped, he took the blood cleansing herbs and the results were miraculous,” explained Sarah.
“Yes, Doc, we used many blood cleansing herbs in our diets. We found out that the Indian spices such as Turmeric, Cinnamon. Clove, Cardamom, Coriander, Curry powder, Cilantro, Curry leaves, Cumin, green tea and so on helped to make my diabetes go away faster. We met an American born gentleman and his wife who told us that his diabetes disappeared after he went and lived in India for 6 months,” Paul said.
“Yes, Indian foods are highly nutritious to the human body as the spices keep the body cells heated and energized. This way bacteria and germs cannot invade the cells easily. The Americans eat too much cold food and drink too much cold water. This is what reduces the body’s immunity and creates a breakdown in the cells that will attract diseases. This is what creates one of the conditions that will cause cancer in the body. So when they go to the hospital to cure the cancer a procedure known as “Chemotherapy” is used. This method uses chemical heat to destroy the cells but, it also destroys the good cells in the process. In India, spices such ginger, hot pepper, masala tea, Neem, Amla, clove and hot curry and more will provide enough heat to kill any cancer cell that develops. Even the brain stays healthy and diseases such as Alzheimer’s are non-existent in India. People should learn to drink warm water or hot water instead of cold, this way their body cells will not turn cold. Have you been doing that?” asked Dr. Sareen
“Yes Doc, we both have been doing it”, answered Sarah, “He does not, nor I or the children drink cold water or cold juices. We eat everything at room temperature or hot. This has made all of us feel better and healthier. I must say the children are following your advice too. My son and my daughter both have topped their classes in exams since they started this diet.”
“What about your sex life and your relationship, has that been affected, and is it better now?” asked Dr. Sareen
“I am glad you asked Doc.” answered Sarah with a little bit of excitement in her voice. “When we first came to you 3 years ago, it was mess. He suffered from weak erections, pre-mature ejaculation, erectile dysfunction and low semen flow. The head of his penis was lacerated after we made love and he experienced pain after the sessions sometime.”
“And now? asked Dr. Sareen
A 360 degree turn-around, he is like a stud. His penis has gotten very healthy. He has strong erections and is able to maintain that for a very long time. “That’s right,” replied Dr. Sareen smiling in a chuckle, “the Omegas and oils in the fish diets actually restore the skin of inner organs just as it restores the outer skin of the body. Doctors hardly talk about it but all the organs such as the brain, the liver, heart, inner sex organs, kidneys, bladders etc contain a thin layer of skin which is destroyed by sugar or lack of insulin in the body. This is why the condition of diabetes results in heart attacks, skin problems, damaged kidneys, damaged sex organs, MS, stroke and Alzheimer’s. Omega nourishments rebuild these inner and outer skins around the organs and so the organ becomes stronger. In India, a lot of these Omegas are contained in the spices and teas that they ingest every day, so their organs are much stronger and their sexual energy is high. More so, they use Ghee or clarified butter to cook their foods which is made from milk. Ghee is an abundant source of protein oil because it comes from milk and it contains Omegas.”
“Now I understand why the creams I used did not help to stop the lacerations on my inner skin. It was because the blood was tainted with sugar toxicity and when an erection took place that toxicity will be stronger when the penis is engorged, thus creating the lacerations after sex. I will tell you, that was usually excruciating and painful.” said Paul with an expression of relief in his face.
I am glad you understand,” said Dr. Sareen, “Sarah, I heard that you are cooking lots of Indian foods nowadays. It is wonderful to hear that.”
“Oh yes, Doc. Paul actually took me to India for about a month. He wanted me to learn how to cook Indian food. We had a wonderful time and I have now learned how to cook Indian food very well. Paul no longer eats any American bread or any food made with wheat. Everything we cook includes chickpea flour, corn flour, oats, barley, brown rice, basmati rice, wild rice, split pea flour, and so on. We all feel healthier. I am so happy that we met you when he got sick 3 years ago.
“Tell me, what was your family diet like before Paul got sick three years ago?” asked Dr. Sareen.
Well, we were vegetarians. We ate a lot of tofu, soy products, white rice, white flour, processed foods and all the things you told us to avoid. Paul used to drink 3 to 4 cans of sodas every day. He ate a lot of sweet foods and lots of potatoes from fast food restaurants. Pizza was the favorite of the family. The kids and we loved to have it once per week, sometimes twice. Cold water, cold juices and ice cream occupied most of our refrigerator. Oh we had the works.
And your eating habits?
“Oh, they demanded food all the time,” said Sarah, “the kitchen was very active”…
Doctor Sareen looked at them with a smile, “did you know that a lot of what you experienced in your sex life was because of the tofu, the soya and the sodas in your diet? Soy contains estrogen which would weaken a man’s masculine energy and cause your organs to produce less testosterone, a hormone important for male sexuality. Even Viagra cannot help when there is an excess amount of estrogen in a man’s body.”
